Studio Pro 4
Review by Kirk Guillot
I recently got a chance to read and go through the curriculum
of the DVD Studio Pro 4 book by Amartin Sitter and Adrian
Ramseier from Peachpit
Press . I have been using DVD Studio Pro now for a little
while now and thought I knew something about this program.
After reading this book and going from the beginning to the
end. I realized how very informative this book really is.
I started with the first chapter and read it like I had never
worked with DVD Studio Pro before. It took me from the
beginning with “simple setup” procedures,
“creating menus”, and creating a “slideshow”.
Through the more “Pro” looking features this program
can create.
There is SO much I like about this book but I will cover
a few other points that helped me. I enjoyed the section on
“Encoding” and using Compressor. I have
always had questions about bit rate and the various
encoding settings. This book help me answer those questions.
From a creative stand point, I like the section on “Adding
a Layered Menu”. This showed me how to create unique
Photoshop graphic elements and incorporate them into my DVD
project.
I really liked how each chapter was straight to the point.
easy to understand, and had a “Lesson Review”
at the end. Along with the included lesson DVD, it was really
easy to follow along chapter by chapter and learn how to make
a great looking DVD. I would highly recommend this book to
anyone who is a first time DVD Studio Pro user to seasoned
veteran.
Thank you PeachPit Press!
